We all know honeybees. But there is another group
out there that are often overlooked but a gardener's
best friends. They are the Mason Bees. They are
members of the Leafcutter bee family.  They are non
aggressive, powerful pollinators and very easy to
attract to your garden.

In the spring, they mate and the females begin to
gather pollen and lay eggs.  Because they do not
build their own nests they use existing holes left by
beetles or other log dwellers. Or better yet, a
predrilled home near the garden. The larve feed for
several weeks and pupate at the end of summer. The
following spring brings on this new generation ready
to go and start the process all over again.

It has been said that 2 or 3 females can pollinate
the equivalent of a mature apple tree. Imagine what
they could do for your veggies or flowers.
Our Pollinator Penthouse comes ready to hang.  They are best facing East to get only
the morning sun.  The bees will figure out the rest.  In the spring you will see these little
powerhouses stuffing leaf bits and mud into these compartments. The Penthouse measures
16 x 4 x 4 inches with 27 holes for your new "bee babies"

As we all know, bees have been in decline.  We need to do whatever we can to encourage
them to stay and providing homes will certainly help.

You can order the Penthouse on the order page.  They sell for $25 which includes shipping.

We accept PayPal and all major credit cards.  Click
