We have entered the amazing and fun world of dehydration. We have begun short
and long term food storage too. What a wonderful project this is. The dried foods
take up no freezer space. There are so many things that can be dried and stored
with minimal effort and maximum results. We started with some citrus fruits and
bananas. The banana chips are wonderful! We have dehydrated lots of frozen
veggies while waiting on the garden produce. My favorite is frozen hash browns.
They come out perfectly, rehydrate easily and cook like fresh. Wonderful!! We
bought an Excalibur Dehydrator and could not be more pleased. If you would like to
see a 3 minute video about them, click on the dehydrator and they will tell you all
about it.
There are also many videos on YouTube on the
subject. Watch a few and prepare to be amazed!!
These are a few pics of some of the things we
have dried so far. Only failure was some apple
peelings. We will try again though.
No kidding, this works! We have used
quite a bit of it in soups and bean
dishes. Everything has exceeded our
expectations. See how the Excalibur
can be a joy for gardeners by clicking

These potatoes were done from
frozen hash browns, dehydrated, re
hydrated and fried. You could not tell
them from fresh potatoes except that
they were faster and not so wet.
