As our gardens have gotten more productive we have discovered
that the three foot wide raised beds would have been better as
two feet wide or away from the fence so we could walk around
them. It is difficult to harvest by stretching three feet in. This
is especially true since we are older.
For a fun project, we got a galvanized washtub 28in diameter,
12in tall and planted strawberries from the runners off last year's
berries. Now we have strawberries on the deck. YUM!!

We purchased a Dehydrator! We are so excited about
preserving our bounty this way. Click HERE to go to the

This is the latest project here at the Farm. We have built a
28 bed ( 3ft x 10ft each ) with a deer fence. We have very
high hopes for this especially in the ease of maintaining it.
We'll keep you informed.
The fruit trees have fruit this year!! Now to keep the deer
away. The trees will be netted this weekend.
That picture is from last year. We did indeed put nets on the
trees to protect our fruit. We will not do it again. They made
harvest impossible and tangled up badly.
